About PCEDC

The Pike County Economic Development Corporation (PCEDC) actively works to promote economic growth by encouraging new and expanding industries and supporting job creators throughout the county. While serving as a catalyst for the quality of life initiatives, PCEDC is a non-profit organization operating through a principled, business-driven leadership model focused on a mission of improving the quality of community life for all Pike County residents through the development of economic prosperity.

How PCEDC Works with Industries

PCEDC works with our business leaders to foster an environment that is ideal for industries, their employees and their families to flourish. From site selection to incentives to workforce training, the Pike County Economic Development Corporation is honored to partner with business leaders to assist them in establishing and growing in Pike County.

The members of the PCEDC Board and staff work closely with elected officials to ensure that we are doing our part to keep unnecessary regulations at bay, taxes low and what is best for our county at the forefront of the minds of our state and federal elected leaders. Few places outside of Washington are home to as many elected officials as we have here. We are fortunate to have a member of the Alabama House of Representatives, Marcus Paramore, and Alabama’s Secretary of State, Wes Allen, that live right here in Pike County. Those strong bonds, along with our terrific working relationships with United States Senators Katie Britt and Tommy Tuberville, help us to navigate economic development issues at all government levels.

Workforce Development

Workforce development is an integral part of what makes PCEDC, our partners and our county so successful. We understand that workforce development requires quality training and that there is no one size fits all approach to successful training programs. By partnering with our local schools, Troy University, our state’s 2-year colleges, the Alabama Department of Commerce and the Alabama Department of Industrial Development and Training, we can help execute a training program that ensures your employees are ready to work on day one.

The PCEDC includes in-house training rooms that are often used by companies in Pike County to conduct training sessions with employees, hold team meetings or conduct interviews. The State of Alabama also provides AIDT which partners with companies and entities in Pike County to provide training that can be customized to the needs of the employer.
